Sunday evening tea time, and was despatched to get a curry. Hadn't been to the Modern for a good few years, so to have the service, cost and amazing food meet all our expectations was great, and fast too. They also chucked in a couple of extra poppadoms, which is always a winner in my book. 5 star service, 5 star food. Only left 4 star on the atmosphere, as obviously it's only a takeaway and not a restaurant, so unless you take your own lights and sound system with you, the atmosphere is a takeaway

Absolutely lovely food. Prices are very reasonable and portions are great for what you pay. Really lovely place. Shout out to the young girl who delivered my food, it was really fast, efficient, and most importantly polite and friendly :)

Lovely authentic dishes freshly cooked. So tasty, and plenty of it: great value. I have been eating curry all over the world for for 50 years, I have a Sri Lankan wife, and we can honestly say that this is the best food of its type that I have had in Barry. So nice not to have everything smothered in beetroot colouring.

Tried this place after getting a menu through the door. This is now our new favourite Indian takeaway! Naan bread is the best I’ve ever had. I usually can’t cope with more spice than a korma, but I had the ‘Balti staff masala’ and wow! SO GOOD. Chicken and lamb and there was plenty of delicious, tender meat (I asked for off the bone). The mint sauce that comes with the onion bhaji was also delicious. The staff are friendly too. Highly recommend this place.
